According to the Housing Minister, ghana institution of surveyors audit report on the housing units shows that NDC gov't mbezzled over $114 million.
“The Ghana Institute of Surveyors have come out with a report showing that what is on the ground, measured against the money received will bring out a very very huge figure of about $114 million," he said.
As a result, Minister Atta Akyea hinted that the CID is thoroughly investigating the matter and all the officials involved in the Saglemi housing are currently being interrogated.
From the report of Ghana Institute of Surveyors signed by the president, the work on ground can be quantified to an amount of $64million, a whooping $114million can not be traced. Because of this, he said the NDC can not be entrusted with the housing sector if they comeback to power.
“Saglemi questions the bona fide of NDC to do any serious housing project,” he added.
- President Agyakum Kuffour secured 2,172 acres of land for the Saglemi housing project in 2002.
- Late President Mills gave Executive approval for the project to be implemented in 2012.
- The first phase of the 1500 housing units was to be delivered by the President Mahama by 2016.
